This framed drawing combining under drawing techniques using indian ink, applied with layers of thick, luxurious oil pasel, has a strong tactile finish even under glass. Its the image made in response a year growning 'sunflower soldiers', a veratible army of golden 'Giant Sunflowers', in a linear pattern to line the two square lawns outside of the artists then, Michael Street Beaumaris Studio. The one deliberate gap Yvonne left in the growth was for her to stand, becoming 'shoulder to shoulder' with these impressive blooms that she latter dried, harvested, shared and replanted. The drawing gives rise to the power of 'collecting with intention', and re-assmebly, from nature, of it's most delicate elements to harness and share it's symbolic power, in this case, regal qualities.
