In the making ... +... August Sale

Welcome to the re-design of the YSH Studio, Yvonne Maclean, web site.

These changes have been bubbling up naturally, born of the efforts of giving conscious nurture to this 'life-long' interest of making art.

Sketchbook work, writing, studio painting, pattern design, print and photography continue from working with the deliberate contrasts of nature's quiet and life's busy spaces.

The result is one that more openly shares the arts practice I have of responding to the world, recognising the feelings within memories and playing with the opportunities that shifting light presents upon surfaces... peoples' faces, objects, plants or creatures. Each inquiry is making its way into collections of fine arts and digital arts pieces.

Of late I've invested in curating an updatable, digital art, surface pattern design portfolio. Having this portfolio means that licensing is getting ever closer. I continue making and growing with this inspiringly satisfying work, finding ways to match the strengths of what I make with other makers who are invested in producing unique products.

In my fine arts practice I'm closing in on the completion of a current body of work, 'Heir/Air'. These works have been joyous and have required working to explore the profound beauty available in our relationships. They have encouraged looking at how, across time, each vulnerable area of connection has its effect, even producing themes, that speak to our 'belonging' in the world.

The making is happening around the work I do in private practice, arts therapy Supervision work, and for our airbnb 'Leila at Malmsbury', and the country-based face painting events. Each of these areas adds some form of value to the art I make. I miss my direct, Specialist Palliative Care and Bereavement Care work but enjoy the ongoing reading and education I invest in, in my fields of expertise and am reminded daily of the honour of having been so intimately 'with' people in their lives, for many years.
