January 2024, thank you.

Time with loved ones has been the most special way to start the year. Between celebrations of new life, of passing life, the year that was and the year being welcomed in, January has been wonderful for restful sleep, country time, city time, family & friends time, beach time, pool time, street-art time gallery dates, board games, midnight-exploding-fish-tank rescues, and hearty laughs with loved ones - making new memories, 2024 has already been a thrill.

And stitched into this years' start, quite seamlessly, has been my lovely sketchbook and studio-time self.

The dedicated time taken in being somewhere lovely in the world to simply be and make marks has yielded really memorable results. Often these works started as studies from life. Now I get to reproduce and embellish them in a variety of ways. The subject matter tended to follow a rhythm of being influenced by nature, micro or macro, sharing an echo of experiences I had as a ‘grower’.

All my expressive pursuits across January strengthened my approaches as Arts Therapist. The face and body painting done provided discrete, balance to the specialist palliative care and bereavement care arts psychotherapy work I have, further imbuing my Supervision work with other practicing Arts Therapist’s around Australia, with contemporary, holistic, family and person centred, sociometry and psychodynamic informed, childhood developmental interested perspectives, from a whole other angle.

How good this has all be working, me, an artist who adores paint, patterns, nature, people, human development and relationships and surface design. My art work is continually born from the scenes of my experiences and the sketches, prints and photographs I take and build into works of fine art, patterns and therapeutic care.

And there we have it, the start of the 2024 year.

May your 2024 already be showing signs of all the things you need most, and may it all be part of a bigger, thrilling, adventure unfolding, one that is full of blessings for you where ever you may be, right now.

I’m looking forward to sharing more with you here as as the year unfolds and as always, if you want to discuss setting up your spaces with art works that matter, that speak to the heart of you, please be in touch, drop me an email at info@yshstudio.com.

With warmth,

Yvonne.
